In India, the armed forces are divided into three groups: Indian Navy, Indian Air Force, and Indian Army. Indian Army Jobs: Eligibility Criteria

Various eligibility norms (concerning age criteria and educational qualifications) for the different positions with the Indian Army are prescribed by the relevant authorities. The candidates who have completed their 10+2 have the following options.

1) National Defence Academy (NDA)

They can undergo training for three years and one-year at NDA in Khadakwasla in Pune and the Indian Military Academy (IMA) in Dehradun respectively.

The candidates should have completed 10+2 and studied Physics and Maths subjects to be eligible. The training programs start twice a year, during the months of January and July. Upon completion of training, they get BSc/BA degrees from JNU.

1) Technical Entry Scheme (10+2)

The candidates get 1-year training at Officers Training Academy (OTA) at Gaya. Then, they have to undergo 4-year training at Cadet Training Wings (CTWs) that are located in cities like Secunderabad, Mhow, and Pune.

The aspirants have to pass their 10+2 exams while scoring minimum of 70% aggregate marks to be eligible. Also, they have to study Chemistry, Maths, and Physics subjects to qualify. They can apply for courses that commence during the months January and July. They are given B.Tech degrees from JNU after training completion.

Other eligibility Criteria

In addition to the candidates’ educational background and age limit, the applicants have to be medically and physically fit to qualify as well.

Indian Army Jobs: How to Apply?

As seen earlier, notifications of job openings with the Indian Army are released by the authorities periodically. The candidates who are interested in applying for any listed opportunity should check whether they meet the eligibility requirements. Then, upon satisfying the eligibility criteria, they should submit their applications as per the stipulated format.

The aspiring candidates can apply for both short service commission and permanent commission with the Indian Army. Under permanent commission, they can continue with the Indian Army until retirement.
