The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) started functioning during the year 1939 and was known as the Crown Representative’s police. Later, during the year 1949, they became the CRPF under the CRPF Act. The CRPF comes under the Armed Forces of India who are responsible for maintaining peace and security in the country while abiding by the Constitution of India. Also, they are deployed for countering insurgency or revolts that take place. Having been in service for around 80 years, the CRPF forces have expanded through the years and total to over 200 battalions presently. Also, the CRPF is grouped into four zones. These include the Central Zone, Jammu & Kashmir zone, North-East zone, and South zone. Each zone is constituted of a group of states where the CRPF officials are deployed. Jobs with the CRPF: Varied Posts

An array of job vacancies is released by the CRPF authorities every year for different positions. These include Teacher, Constable, Doctor, Medical Officer, Assistant Commandant, Computer Instructor, Sub-Inspector, Specialist, among others. For recruiting the lower-level and middle-level positions with the CRPF, the Staff Selection Commission bears the responsibility. Further, the jobs with the CRPF that come under the Group ‘B’ and ‘C’ posts are handled by the CRPF Recruitment Center. Under Group ‘B’ positions are included the Sub-Inspector and Assistant Sub-Inspector ones. And positions including the Constables and Head Constables come under the Group ‘C’ posts.

Jobs with the CRPF: Selection Rounds

The candidates who are eligible are invited for several rounds as part of the screening process. They are, first, called for the written exams and physical efficiency test. After successfully clearing these rounds, they have to attend medical exams and trade tests. Upon selection in these rounds, they are listed in the Merit List that is displayed on the official website of the CRPF, https://crpf.gov.in/. Then, the candidates who appear in the Merit List have to attend the final interview.

Jobs with the CRPF: Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for the varied positions with the CRPF differ. And the applicants are required to read the eligibility norms beforehand. Now, only if they meet the given eligibility norms, they are advised to submit their applications. Take the example of Constable Posts. To apply for such positions, the candidate has to be between the ages of 18-28 years. Besides, they should have passed the 10th standard or Matriculation exam to be eligible to apply.

To be part of the CRPF, the aspiring candidates can apply to the job vacancy notifications that are uploaded on the ‘Careers’ section of the official website. To apply for a specific position, they should read the instructions of the vacancy thoroughly. Then, proceed by furnishing all the required information as prompted by the system. The applicants have to share basic details such as name, residential address, email address, and contact number. Additionally, they have to scan certain documents such as photographs and signature specimens. Follow by scanning the requisite documents and uploading them on the system. Making payment of the Application fee is the norm for applying, as well. Thereafter, review your complete applications, after which you must make any changes (if desired). Next, submit your application by selecting the ‘Submit’ tab. Also, take a print copy of the ‘Confirmation Page’ for reference purposes.
