The Indo Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBPF) started operations during the year 1962. The ITBPF officials are positioned as border guards – covering districts ranging from Karakoram Pass, Ladakh, to Jachep La, Arunachal Pradesh. The area covers around 3500 km of Indo-China Border, having border outposts at high altitudes.

Jobs with the ITBPF are grouped into the gazette and non-gazette ones. Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’ come under gazette jobs; and Group ‘C’ and Group ‘D’ are categorized under non-gazette jobs.

Several aspirants apply for jobs with the ITBPF to serve as part of the defense forces of the country. Also, ITBPF employees work under the government and enjoy an array of benefits. Job security is one of the significant benefits. Other benefits are inclusive of accommodation facilities, medical care, and performance-based promotions.

However, to apply for jobs with the ITBPF, the applicants should meet the eligibility criteria. Then, upon selection, they have to attend the different selection rounds. Here, the examiners consider their overall performance and offer the stipulated jobs to the suitable candidates.

ITBPF Jobs: Selection Process

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) holds exams for aspirants who are applying for Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’ jobs. Also, for filling Group ‘A’ Indo-Tibetan border police jobs, a special selection board carries out written exams, medical tests, and physical efficiency examinations. However, the Group ‘A’ candidates are called for the written exam on the basis of their scores in the UPSC exam.

For recruiting candidates under Group ‘C’, a series of rounds are conducted. These include physical fitness tests, written examinations, and personal interviews.

Moreover, the original documents of the candidates are verified by the examiners during the document-verification rounds before the selection of the final candidates.

ITBPF Jobs: Eligibility Criteria

Notifications for various job vacancies are released on the official website of the ITBPF. The varied jobs differ in eligibility norms. Thus, the candidates should read the eligibility requirements; and only upon meeting the requirements, they must go ahead with their applications.

The ITBPF recruits candidates having different educational backgrounds. Applicants who have completed their 10th standard, 12th standard, graduation, or post-graduation are eligible to apply, subject to the condition that they satisfy the given norms.

Even so, to apply for Constable positions with the ITBPF, the applicant must complete their Matriculation to be considered eligible.

ITBPF Jobs: Application Process

The aspiring candidates who want to apply for jobs with the ITBPF have to submit online applications via the official website, http://recruitment.itbpolice.nic.in/.

They must first register on the official website, following which they receive a verification link. Following verification of their accounts, they can access their accounts via their login credentials that they receive through email. Then, they have to sign in to their accounts and fill their profile information.

In addition to furnishing the requisite information, they have to upload certain documents as well. These include scanned copies of their signature and latest photograph in the prescribed format.

Thereafter, if they are found eligible for any of the latest vacancies with the ITBPF, they will receive an email, following which they can apply for the post. Also, the ITBPF recruitment website releases notifications of the job vacancies on their official website.

If they are interested in applying for any position, they must select the ‘Apply Online’ tab. For registered candidates, a pre-filled application form is displayed on the screen if they are logged into their accounts. Here, they have to re-check the details before final submission of their applications.

If they need to make changes to the application, they must click on the ‘Previous’ tab and make the required changes before submitting their applications.

As part of the application process, the candidates are required to pay the Recruitment Fees as well. They are directed to the Recruitment Gateway where they can pay the Recruitment Fee via the different payment modes.

Upon submitting their applications, the candidates can check the status of their applications, download admit card, view their marks that they scored in the different selection rounds, among others.
