The National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) is the managing body of the admission process, pertaining to the varied Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs). Through the State Council for Vocational Training (SCVT), the NCVT puts forward the guidelines to the state governments, of the various Indian states, on the conduct of the admissions in the ITI centers.
During the 1950s, the ITIs were set-up as per the Craftsmen Scheme. The constituting body of the ITIs is the Directorate General of Employment & Training (DGET), Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, the Union Government of India.
With the objective of catering to the technical needs of various industries, the ITIs impart vocational training to the students. Moreover, after completing the ITI courses, the pass-outs can work in the several industries, depending on their choice of trade.
There is a range of ITI programs that the aspirants can opt for. However, the applicants must study the eligibility norms prior to submitting their applications. This is important because the eligibility criteria of the varied courses vary.
The eligible candidates can appear for the ITI Entrance Examination that is conducted, in India, every year. The results of the entrance test are uploaded on the official website, https://ncvtmis.gov.in/Pages/Home.aspx. State-wise, the applicants can check their results on the official website and other educational websites as well.
